Go deep into the jungles of the Ironbound and you’ll find the secluded Fernandez. It’s a great place if you want to dance till 3 a.m. They have live bands to get the crowd into the dance floor. People really want to dance here so when the band plays the men will quickly ask the woman of his choice to dance.
You have to move fast here especially if it’s a crowded night. It’s a good salsa meet up group in Newark.
They may play one song at a time or several but as soon as its finished, zoom everyone disperses from the dance floor. There are a few who linger, if it’s a couple or a guy not wanting to let go and trying to secure the next dance. Of course, if she lets him.

Fernandes is big and the parking is ok. I can’t really complain but sometimes you walk a block if it’s a very crowded night, which it usually is, on the weekends.
