Newark Restaurants

There are many Newark restaurants but I particularly love Newark Ironbound restaurants for dinner and dancing in NJ, especially for salsa dancing. Besides, I live there. The Newark Ironbound district has a vast array of restaurants with a different culture from rest of the big box eat out places.

So, if you are looking for something different from Applebee’s or Fridays, all I have to say is go ironbound.

Come to Ferry street and just find parking anywhere for a stroll. Take a walk and explore the area with its numerous restaurant and bars and Latin dancing clubs. The area is known for its Portuguese and Brazilian flavored lifestyle.

Personally, I wasn’t very familiar with these two cultures until I came down here. What struck me about the restaurants is the quality of food and the good portion they serve.

Although there are many types of restaurants, like Mexican restaurants in the Ironbound and South American restaurants, I particularly love to eat the Portuguese and Brazilian ones. Hey, it’s what made the area popular at first. Their parades and festivals bring a large crowd, I noticed especially for the Brazilians. I guess because there is a vast numbers of them and South Americans in the area.

You have to try their rodizios, I know there are others throughout NJ but to get the authentic flavor you must come to restaurants in the Ironbound. Also, I love the Portuguese ribs they make. You can get a 1/2 portion of ribs, fries and rice for only $7 to $8 and they let your plate overflow. The flavoring they put is unequal to others; it is delicious and will surely make any mouth water.

Actually, I can’t eat any other ribs except Portuguese style because it’s flamed in the fire which gives it the special taste with touch of Portugal. I tried going other places for ribs but they just don’t make the cut.

Price wise I’ll have to say the closer you are to Ferry Street the more costly but it’s worth the price. If you go further from Ferry and explore the other areas you will find great places at an affordable rate. It’s not to say everything is costly because it’s not but you’ll notice which may cost a little more than the others by just looking at it.

The good thing about dinner and dancing in the Ironbound is there are plentiful Latin dance club in the area. You can go to Fernandes for dinner and dancing. On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 pm. To 10 pm. Fernandes Night Club has a FREE salsa class, if it’s your first visit.

The salsa instructor is Manny, just make sure you let him know, you found him on SalsaForFitness.com. You can also try the International if you want to get your groove happening and of course the Adega Lounge.

You have to be adventurous and daring for the ironbound nightlife. Especially for people who never came to Newark restaurants. What I’m saying is, you will not be disappointed if you’re looking for good food in the Iron bound. Open your eyes and explore this new world.

If you’re at the NJPAC, the Prudential Center for a concert or Devil’s hockey game, I suggest you come down. Try something new and the NJ Penn Station is in the Iron bound so you can easily take your destination here by train or bus.

I would suggest checking the internet for the best restaurants in the Ironbound. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes and a great attitude because dinner, friends, dancing and romance go hand in hand with the Ironbound in Newark NJ.
